wherein Liz gripes about various and sundry things

Wrote more "Tides" last night. Sasuke seems to have very definite ideas about where this chapter/ficlet should go, but he's being very reluctant to actually tell me so it's going slowly. Also, trying to keep three people organized in a fight/chase scene is kind of awkward, particularly when one of them can suddenly become several dozen people if he feels like it. *eyes Naruto disapprovingly*

The tricky bit about writing ninja fights is that if you just have them doing "magic" all the time, it gets very messy very fast. And if you have them be sneaky and stealthy, and fight hand-to-hand or with knives and shuriken, it gets a little unrealistic that they aren't using special jutsu. It's a balancing act, and I'm never sure I'm getting it right.

*sigh*

And I can't even be lazy and work on easier stories, since all my other current projects are also at awkward points.

Today is the day my lease should be ending, but I got a two-week extension so I'm all right. However, this leaves me alone in a very large house, with bags and bags of garbage floating around since some of my housemates didn't feel like cleaning out before this weekend.

Also, somebody stole my baking sheets, and since he/she is now gone, I have no way to ever get them back. *is peeved*

pointless work update

After weeks and weeks of going nowhere, the VPN for my remote-coding recipe project is finally working! I start coding tomorrow. (Probably. After I finish a spreadsheet for another client, and work out a polite way to kick I. off her computer, since she's the only one who has VPN software installed.)
