I find Luna an interesting character to write -- on the one hand, it's hard to get into her mindset, but on the other, once I'm there she practically writes herself.

I think the vaguely detached feeling is the key. Which makes her either completely loopy or devastatingly practical by turns, since she just doesn't quite connect to things the way other people might.
