The show is overall more sentimental than the book (as is common in book-to-film adaptations, I have found), but yeah, it is still fairly biting despite the increased focus on Crowley and Aziraphale's 6000-year slow-burn relationship. I enjoyed it a lot, but it didn't steal my heart nor is it something I feel any need to write for. But it's fun to see other people having a passionate summer fling!
