midday update, Wednesday March 11

1. I slept in this morning since A) I could and B) I had a weird pain in the lower right corner of my mouth, sort of like I sprained the base of my tongue? So I was hoping to sleep that off, and I suppose it worked a bit.

2. I did a test bake of the savory cheese bread I plan to bring to my Saturday evening wine-tasting event.

Results: it's tasty! So that's the most important part down. It's also a little dry, which should be easy enough to compensate for -- just add a bit more liquid next time and use moister mozzarella. If I were making it just for myself, I'd probably also toss in a bit of garlic, but that's probably not the best idea for a public event, let alone a public event where the focus is on tasting wine flavors. *wry*

I think I also had my oven set a smidge too high, and I didn't drizzle the melted butter very evenly, but again those are easy tweaks.

I had a couple pieces (buttered) for lunch along with some steamed broccoli and enjoyed the combo very much. :)

3. Arranged a phone call with my brother for this weekend.

4. Two of my Not the IRS coworkers are out sick today, so I came in 1.5 hours early at my boss's request. I fully expect to spend most of the afternoon and evening sitting around doing nothing in particular.

I think I will get started on that sitting around right now, actually. *wry*
