edenfalling: golden flaming chalice in a double circle (gold chalice)

The thing is, changing the words is an attempt at a compromise between people who really like the songs and the tradition aspect of Christmas services, and people who practically get hives when forced to participate in anything involving the word God, and especially involving references to Jesus. So even though I think it's a futile and stupid effort, I understand why it happens.

But it does trip up people as we sing -- the ministers have to remind people that the words are often not the traditional ones, so please read the hymnal carefully! -- and it's... not plagiarism, but reverse plagiarism, maybe? Putting your words into somebody else's mouth without referencing the change, which I think is equally as wrong as putting somebody else's words into your own mouth without referencing the source.

Sakura and Anko are going to have fun. Yes. And Sakura will doubtless learn things about various high level Leaf-nin that she never in a million years wanted to know. Because writing that will amuse me. :-D
