Oh, I know about Japanese non-plurals! I just think that Anglicizing the word, and thus using a standard -s plural, is more in Kipling's style. It goes along with the random Capital Letters, see? (Besides, 'ninjas' is the standard English usage. That tends to be the fate of foreign loan words; we make them fit our grammar patterns.)

I couldn't resist the porn joke. :-)
