wherein Liz finishes her remix. yes, really

The rough draft of my unexpected remix is done! It's not ready for beta yet, though -- the balance between the three sections is a little off. I think I need to add a thematic point in section one and some background character details in section two, so that section three grows organically out of both of them and resolves two issues at once.

But that should be easy enough.

...

I still have no idea what I was thinking when I started writing this, but I hear that looking gift horses in the mouth is a bad idea, so whatever. I have a finished story, over two weeks early. This is nothing but gravy. :-)

on ice cream sundaes, yet again (please forgive me, it's a local pride thing)

I love Google: today their header graphic is a picture of an ice cream sundae (the two scoops are serving as the two Os in the site name), in celebration of, and I quote, the "119th Anniversary of the First Documented Ice Cream Sundae."

Which would be Ithaca, on Sunday, April 3, 1892.

:-D

The Google logo designers are hedging their bets, of course, by saying first "documented" sundae rather than flat-out first sundae -- not that Two Rivers, Wisconsin needs appeasing, because they are wrong in their claims. But anyway, Ithaca really is the only town that has proof of a sundae's invention at the time we say it was invented. There is a local newspaper advertisement for a cherry sundae on April 5, 1892. None of the other places have anything other than hearsay for decades after their claims. We have documentary proof within three days. Take that!

wherein Liz requests a beta

So! My unexpected remix is finished and has undergone preliminary edits. Now I need someone else to read it and tell me where I'm being an idiot.

Is anyone willing to take a look? It is under 5,000 words and is also mostly gen. If you leave me contact information, I will email you to provide details (such as, you know, the fandom name), after which you are free to accept or decline.

Help, anybody?
