Meh. Am pathetic. Far too much attention is going to my new job, plus I've hit the point of "God, I hate these people and I'm SO BORED" that I always seem to run into on any story somewhere after 7,000-10,000 words or two weeks, whichever comes sooner.

Spent this afternoon attempting to write HP fanfic instead of my novel. *sigh* Am stalled on my HP fics as well, so that was doubly useless. "Secrets" is at a point where I need to do heavy canon quoting/adapting, "Strange Likenesses" is at a similar place (down by the mirror, trying to get the Stone), I have NO IDEA what happens next in "Paint the Town," I'm just not in the mood to write "First You Have to Get There," and I'm still steadfastly refusing to start "The Grace of God" until I've cleared out my WIPs a bit. (Also, "The Grace of God" requires me to have read Jane Austen more recently than I have, since it has overtones of English social irony/comedy/gentle observation. I want to write it -- it's Petuniafic, mostly, dealing with an Evans family reunion in a world in which things went slightly differently at a key point -- but I won't. Not yet. I don't have much willpower, but occasionally I do manage to put my foot down, and I'm putting it down here.)

However, frustrating though that bout of non-writing was, it may have been enough of a mental break that I can get back to NaNo tomorrow and write like a mad thing.

No wonder you can't figure out what to write next! You're writing 5-6 things at once!! *mind boggles* Those of us who are ADD (like me) can barely work on one fic at a time. But I know what you mean about things slowing down on the NaNo front...what I'm writing now is really slow-going. *crosses fingers for improvement*
