wherein Liz buys a fan and watches a parade
Today I trekked out to Bed & Bath and bought a third electric fan, so that I will have moving air in my bedroom without having to shut down my computer every night. (I currently have one fan setting up an airway in the half of my apartment where that's practical, and a second aimed directly at my computer to keep it from crashing in the summer heat.)
It is approximately a 45-minute walk from my apartment to the various box stores on Rt. 13. But I needed the fan and I had a coupon, so it made sense. Also, Lowes is close to Bed & Bath, and I needed to recycle a curlicue fluorescent bulb, plus I wanted to check the travel time because I need to make an appointment to get my eyes checked this summer, and my eye care place is down in that same area of town.
On the way back, I stopped to watch about 90% of the parade that opens the Ithaca Festival. In an unprecedented turn of events, it did not rain on the parade this year. And this despite clouds and humidity and a forecasted chance of thunderstorms! I am all astonishment.
Other than that, it's been a slow day. I like slow days. :-)
