I had no idea Ariadne was going to be a dreamwalker until I started writing this section... but it makes perfect sense, it gives me ideas for character interacton later on, and it neatly resolves a couple climactic plot points I'd been hazy about.

I confess I like writing fantasy stories where I can talk about magic powers (and the people who hold them) in vaguely synaesthetic metaphors. :-)
