And her dad always managed to screw up the time zones and call at ungodly a.m. And I'd half wake up and ask at breakfast how her dad was and she'd blink a few times and ask 'oh, did he call again?'. Never remembered a thing, despite five to ten minute long, perfectly coherent conversations. When we were traveling during foreign study, it turned out she could walk and carry luggage like that, too, and would suddenly wake up an hour into the train ride and want to know where the hell we were.

I do hope Sweetheart finds childcare she can trust; that sounds like a /very/ stressful situation all over, poor thing.
