Apparently this prompt hooked into a particular story form/idea/archetype I'd been sort of vaguely meaning to write for the fandom in question, and since my thoughts on the way that incident should go lean toward "oh god you are all so messed up; please cry and shout a lot to clear the air (and then hug)" rather than toward comedy-of-errors, I wound up with angst instead of fluff. *sigh* But hey, maybe once I get the angsty version down in words, I will then have some free brain space to think of a silly variation!
