happy birthday to me?

I am 23 today.

Oddly, this doesn't bother me nearly as much as the thought that in less than a month, my baby sister will be 20.

Then again, my birthdays bother her more than her own, so I guess it's a fair trade!

Saw the notice that you have some new stories coming up on FA, thought I'd check out your LJ, and saw this.

Happy (belated) Birthday! Congratulations, in a couple of years you'll be exactly half my age.

Would that be half your current age, or half your age when the time arrives?

For example, when I am 36 I will be half my mother's age then (which will be 72), but I will be half her current age several years before that.

*glances around furtively* Don't tell my mom I'm giving out her age online! :-)

I am too geeky a math geek to not take the passage of time into account. In two years, you'll be two years older, and so will I, and then you will be half my age.
