3 things: raking leaves; dentistry; holiday cards and stamps
1. On Sunday, I raked the east verge and the (tiny) front yard and filled four bags of leaves. I also raked the side yard and back yard leaves into a whole bunch of piles for easier bagging on some other day.
Today, I bagged all those leaf piles, and then raked up the other leaves that had fallen in the intervening days (plus those that had dried out enough to now be raked; Sunday was still pretty damp with residual snow-melt) and stuffed them into ten additional bags. The fourteen bags are currently sitting on the curb waiting either for Landlord Dude to collect them as mulch for his own garden, or for me to stick yard waste collection tags on them Sunday evening for the city to haul away.
And I still have to rake 75% of the north verge and should probably make another pass at the front yard and driveway on Sunday afternoon, which will be another five bags or so. (Which I have to buy, because I ran out. Ugh.)
There are REASONS I knock off a portion of my December rent check as recompense for raking!

2. I had my final set of fillings this morning. The first novocaine shot didn't quite get all the relevant nerves, so they had to give me a supplemental one. The positioning was kind of awkward and at one point the hygienist almost accidentally triggered my gag reflex with the hand mirror, but aside from that things went well. I had some nasty residual pain in the mid-afternoon (once the last of the novocaine wore off), but I took some ibuprofen and things feel fine now.

3. I bought a set of holiday wreath stamps and two boxes of sort of generic wintry cards (they have an owl on a pale branch with some tiny silver-gilt leaves and red berries under a night sky with stars and a full moon) so with a pinch of luck I'll get those all written, illustrated, addressed, and mailed by the first week of December.
I also bought a birthday card for Aunt Cara, which she will get belatedly at Thanksgiving, because reasons.
...I should probably go back to the post office and buy a set of non-holiday stamps -- they have a frog set that is absurdly cute -- for thank-you notes and general bills and stuff. Eh, maybe Saturday. I intend to get a haircut Saturday morning and I'll walk past the post office en route to the barber shop, so. *makes note on to-do list*

My problem is that I inherited my mom's weak tooth enamel and Ithaca does not have fluoridated water. This is, to put it mildly, a bad combination... but I now have prescription strength extra-fluoride toothpaste to use in my brush-floss-fluoride-rinse routine and that seems to have FINALLY broken the "new year, new cavity" I was stuck in for years.
