one cloud feels lonely

Today was nearly dead at work until Everything Happened At Once around 4pm, and continued to Happen At Once for nearly an hour and a half while Aunt Boss and I paddled furiously to avoid drowning.

Then it went back to nearly dead.

This drought-or-flood pattern has held true in every single job I've ever had, and I think it is a fundamental design flaw of the universe.
