please help Liz write "An Ounce of Prevention"

I need to decide on a character to be Sakura's mission partner in "An Ounce of Prevention" -- you know, the person who watches her while she's writing in the diary and makes sure she doesn't give away vital information, miss anything important, or start acting possessed.

The thing is, the guard's identity isn't that important in terms of PLOT, but it will definitely affect the TONE of the story, not to mention the side conversations. But I have a number of options that are equally entertaining for me, and no real preference for any of them.

So.

Who should be Sakura's guard?

A) Kakashi (bored and with nothing better to do, or trying to make up for past failures)

B) Iruka (taking time after school to help out an old student)

C) Anko (what? It'd be fun! And potentially useful in a minor plot point later on)

D) Ibiki (this is his JOB)

E) Tsunade (gets bored and ditches her paperwork for something more interesting)

F) Team 10 or Team Gai (Team 8 is out of town right now)

G) somebody else (please specify)

---------------

ETA: We have a winner, and the winner is Mitarashi Anko! Kakashi is the runner-up, followed by votes for notifying Ibiki (but not using him as a guard, since he has other things he should be doing), and what seems like an interest in having Iruka and members of Team 10 drop by for cameos.

So my main characters are now Sakura, Tom, Tsunade, Anko, and potentially Kakashi as a fill-in guard (because unless Anko moves into Sakura's house -- which I am not ruling out; she might do something nuts like that -- she can't watch Sakura 24/7). That means I have 3 female characters to 1 or 2 male characters. I like this ratio. :-D

I'd be interested in seeing Anko do it. (it's totally be fun!) Or Kakashi (trying to make up for past failures). Or maybe Ibiki, though I can't help feeling that he ought to have more important things to do (places to infiltrate, people to torture and all).

Really, I'm sure it'll wind up being awesome no matter who you choose.

I can hardly wait to read more of this story! : )

You mentioned in chapter 3 that it was Team 8, not Team 10, that was out on a retrieval mission.

And I put in a vote for Kakashi (trying to make up for past failures). :)

It's a pity team 8 can't be involved, becuase I would say Kurenai since she is a genjutsu user. Other than that, I would say Anko because 1)Hee, fun and 2)she was trained by the shinobi-equivalent of Voldemort, so she has experience with those types.

and as much fun as it would be to see Iruka react to Tom's lack of respect for authority, he is not the one writing, so nevermind XD

But no matter who you choose, I'd love to read more, it's a great story.

*laughs* oh, Kakashi totally gets my vote, he's just so... entertaining.

Voting for Anko, same reason as snickers. I'd also like to see Ino there, but she would distract Sakura and take the focus away.

But you know... I kind of doubt the guard is going to be the same all the time, since that would require being around 24/7 to make sure sakura doesn't sneak in Tomu-time, so if you want to have Kakashi or Tsunade (she could always tell sakura to bring the book and write after a training session because she's curious) you can alternate.

... But Anko would definitely make it more quirky and interesting. (oh man. random thought, Anko/Faith. The dark!sexy!! I die.)

Shikamaru. He's even sharper than Sakura, quite good with this whole countering genjutsu thing, and quite fun to have just lie around. And he's just a guy I like, and would like to hang out with.
Anko gets my Second vote. She's got nothing else to do, and I highly doubt ANBU wants her on the frontlines. Also, dark and sarcastic ftw.

I <3 Anko with Sakura esp. Anko as a bad and corrupting influence on poor, innocent Sak -- okay, so she's not innocent, but the fireworks sure are fun to watch. ^_^

Ebisu

Ebisu, it could get quite fun, as now konohamaru is of age to go to the academy me think. Or maybe you could have konohamaru in the path...grins :-)

Of course, i am using ebisu in my own fanfiction, so it should be better for myself to keep my ideas :ppp

Anko would be fun for the same reason as snickersd.

I can see Ibiki getting briefed on it but I think he have more important things to do.

Gonna have to say Anko or Ibiki. Both of them would have experience dealing with something of the sort -- Sakura's effectively becoming a double-agent, and you need someone who can handle that kind of thing. Kakashi would be number 3 on my list, and I doubt any of the others would have the necessary skills and experience.

Like Lukita, however, I think Ibiki has more demands on his time, as does Kakashi (isn't he on active-duty with ANBU again at that point?).

Which leaves Anko-neesama.

I vote Kakashi, if only because of personal bias - I just happen to be fond of his character. :)

Name's Charles, I don't have an account.

1st choice: Ibiki (he'd likely be intrigued with the thought of interrogating a book)
2nd choice: Iruka (who better to oversea a conversation with a self-proclaimed 'student')
3rd choice: Anko (It would indeed be fun, and she has experience with snake bastards)

Least favorites (tie)

Tsunade: ditch paperwork to watch someone write? not when there's quality nap-time to catch up on.
Team Gai: Power of Youth speeches have no place in this.

Anko is pretty much my favorite female Naruto character, so I'd have to pick her.

On the other hand, for some reason Hana (Kiba's older sister) is calling to me.
