yay progress!

I got back chapter 1 of "Strange Likenesses" from beta and did final edits last night -- I submitted it to FA today and it should be up on my Dark Arts page sometime this week. It's a dark AU in which the newly-disembodied Voldemort notices that he's linked to Harry and heads off to do something about it, instead of floating around in forests for ten years until Quirell stumbles over him. (This happened because I was trying too hard to get back in touch with Tom from "Secrets," and I ended up getting hold of this other Tom as well. He's not as nutty as canon Voldemort, probably because he's doing something instead of just bumming around a dark forest stewing in his own impotence.)

I also attacked chapter 7 of "Secrets" with the Editing Pen of Death and will key the changes into the computer file this evening, so I can send it to beta tomorrow. I also started chapter 8 of "Secrets." Man, I am getting to like this no-internet thing! I dunno how long I can keep up this writing pace -- I'm sure a job will slow it drastically -- but I'm going to milk it for all it's worth while it lasts.

Hmmm.

I seem to be doing nothing but writing these days. Well, I have no job, my class doesn't start 'til Wednesday, everyone in my house is always out at classes, and my old friends graduated last spring. So I guess it's not surprising I have no life right now.

It is a little boring, though.

Writing is good! Devote your entire life to writing! Especially Secrets, which I want to read muchly! Also, if I had the time and the resources, I would conspire to prevent you from ever getting a job, going to class and seeing other people. Anything that keeps the writing going is good.

*scampers off to refresh your TDA page every five seconds for the next week*

Ah. Possibly not, then. Well, at least the writing period's good.
