[Linkspam] grade Obama's first 100 days as president

MSNBC is running a live internet poll to grade Obama's performance in his first 100 days as president. As of 9:15pm EST, it's at about 38% A, 38% F, and less than 10% each for B, C, and D.

Clearly this is not a post-partisan country. *sigh*

(In the interest of full disclosure, I voted B. There have been some mis-steps, but overall I think Obama's administration is doing fairly well, and in any case, I tend to believe that America and the world will muddle on through somehow or other -- after all, we survived eight years of Bush, Cheney, et al. Muddling on through is more or less what life does.)

I would probably vote B as well. Considering I gave the previous president somewhere between a D- and a solid F, B is pretty good.

Bush was not a completely unmitigated disaster -- he had sensible views about immigration, for example, unlike a lot of his party -- but yeah, I'd rate him at D to D-. *sigh* The really sad part is that I think even without 9/11, he'd probably only have been a C- at best, because of all his other problems (business, environment, overreach of executive powers, etcetera).

Bah. He's gone; I refuse to dwell on him anymore. Now we have someone to be FOR instead of just someone to be AGAINST. I like my newfound cautious optimism. :-)
