wherein Liz officially joins her church

Today there was a teacher appreciation ceremony as part of the church service, which was nice. I like feeling appreciated.

I also decided that -- since I teach Sunday school, since I've helped out at the garage sale, since I filled out the survey for things to look for in our new settled minister, since I pledge and monetarily support the congregation, etc. -- it was probably time for me to sign the book and become an official member. Besides, if I'm affiliated this much with a congregation, I'd like the right to vote in the meetings and have some say over where we're going.

So. I am now a proud member of First Unitarian Church of Ithaca. :-)

Well, at first I didn't know I'd be staying in Ithaca. And then the congregation was a big cluster-f*ck for a while. But it's better now.

And I get to help make sure it stays better. *resolve face* :-)
