wherein Liz pleads for a beta (...except you don't get to see the fic for at least a week)
So I am (theoretically) writing a story for Narnia Big Bang. It's due... oh god, January 21. (At least the rough draft).
The thing is... no, okay, the summary of the thing is, I have made literally no progress whatsoever on my official fic that I signed up to write. In fact, I have made regress. I am down to only 200 words, because I didn't like most of the ones I had. I do not want to think what kind of madness I would need to embark upon to write 20,000+ words in under three weeks.
But! I have another Narnia fic which should handily break 10,000 words (the Mini Bang requirement), and is about halfway finished now.
I am supposed to be writing a sequel to "Out of Season," but I discovered that in order to make that work, I first had to write a prequel, because killing half of Ilgamuth's friends works better if I have previously established who they are, why he cares about them, and why the frilly heck he's so loyal to Rabadash anyway.
In any case, I will need a beta. I am supposed to check in tomorrow with a beta and a word count.
I have no beta.
Is anyone willing to read 10,000 or so words of Ilgamuth and Rabadash as teenagers going to war for the first time, and then returning to Tashbaan and ~politics~ and stuff? (Shezan cameos.) Any help will be leapt upon with great cries of joy and undying gratitude!
