gratuitous picture of myself (for real, this time)
For anyone who was wondering what I look like: two self-portraits, taken this evening on my back porch. The first one faces south toward the mulberry tree; the second faces north toward Downstairs Neighbor S's garage. Normally I’d be wearing black or silver earrings, but I wore white ones today to go with the red shirt in honor of the 4th of July. :-)
(As I say in my profile, I have “short brown hair, brown eyes, glasses, a tendency to flush heavily for no apparent reason, and an overall terribly average appearance." I suspect these photos also fall into the long list of ones that don’t manage to capture my smile without making me look like an idiot. Ah well, such is life.)

In other real life news, I did not actually get back to working on the "Secrets" epilogue. Instead, I walked into town with the intention of buying a BLT from Jimmy Johns (a local cheap sandwich outlet), but somehow ended up buying a loaf of sourdough and a mint chocolate chip ice cream cone at Collegetown Bagels instead. Whoops! (I blame
snacky's ice cream deathmatch. Totally not my fault.) Then I took a nap when I got home, because fuck summer. No season needs to be over 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Ever. There is no acceptable excuse.
My feet are slightly blistered since I wore sandals for the walk and I have to break my feet in anew every year, but eh, whatever. I have to get that done at some point. It might as well be now, especially since I have tomorrow off from work as well.

(Also, I must take a moment purely to envy you your teeth.)
BLT sounds delicious, right now. I think I even have bacon. Perhaps I shall do something about this.

I cannot claim credit for the teeth; they just grew that way. My lower teeth, on the other hand, are not nearly as pretty. I had braces for them, which temporarily pulled them apart enough for my dentist to realize the reason I kept getting weird stabbing pains in my left lower canine was because it had no enamel down one side -- it had been jammed too tightly against the neighboring tooth to ever grow any. I got a filling for that, of course. I then failed to wear my retainer because it had vicious sharp edges and my orthodontist never believed me and thus never rounded them down (*shakes retroactive fist of rage at the sexist, patronizing dickhead*) and now my lower teeth are exactly as squished and snaggled as they ever were, only this time it's my right lower canine that is most displaced from where it ought to be. *sigh*
BLTs are delicious. True facts. :-)
