pepper update, April 8

Here is the overview shot of all my potential peppers, plus the two closeups of the first batch, planted on March 15. They have grown since April 1, but the two seeds that hadn't sprouted then are still no-shows. In another few days, I'm going to empty the green plastic pot on the far left. (The other no-show is in the left-hand off-white pot, which had two seeds on account of being stupidly big for seedlings.)

seven pepper sprouts, left side of table
seven pepper sprouts (and two continuing no-shows)

eight pepper sprouts, right side of table
eight pepper sprouts

You may notice, in the overview shot, that the second batch of seeds -- planted on March 25 -- have started to sprout. They began to poke above the soil on Monday, April 6, two days before I expected any signs of life. I took the following photos around 1pm, right before I left for work, and the seedlings had visibly grown by the time I got home at 9:30pm. Very exciting!

two pepper sprouts in tiny plastic cups
the two leftmost seedling cups

three pepper sprouts in tiny plastic cups
moving to the right... (the top point of this triangle is the right-hand cup in the previous phot, fyi)

two pepper sprouts and a no-show
and to the right again...

two pepper sprouts and another no-show
and to the right again... (you have now seen eight unique seedling cups, btw)

three pepper sprouts
and then turning 90 degrees to see the final three seedlings, for a total of eleven!

I love gardening. :-D

Little sproutlings! I'm watching my out-door seeds eagerly to see when they sprout. Primroses are a bit picky, but I sowed them thickly this year so I should have some luck soon.
