if he ever follows up on that tease about the sufferer's pre-scratch name, I expect tons of fanfic within the day. He's a smart evil troll, so he'll probably drop a lot of other cool pre-scratch alternia info at the same time.

Hussie's participation in his own fandom is really neat, from sourcing music and art to improve the comic, to answering quesions, to just understanding what makes us tick. It's kind of unique and awesome.

And he continues to not give out the name. AGAIN. He is a horrible, horrible, EVIL person and dammit I want him to update faster, ARGH!!! Although apparently now we know that the Ancestors had the same last names as their descendants? So last names are maybe related to signs instead of arbitrary? *ponders*

(His involvement with his own fandom is indeed a unique and awesome thing. Also a uniquely FRUSTRATING thing, but awesome nonetheless.)

if names are related to signs, that might be one of the reasons pre-scratch sufferer keeps not getting referred to by name. I mean, he was the signless, right? Or maybe he had a sign, pre-scratch. :O

If so, I think the odds of it being the same as karkat's sign due to shenanigans are pretty high.

Well, in pre-Scratch Alternia, Karkat would have been the Signless, right? Since he and his friends were the Ancestors in that iteration of the blue universe. And then whatever important symbolic event happened to him would have informed whatever sign whats-his-face eventually got. Which is probably the Irons, because yeah, shenanigans, and also Aranea wears it as a necklace so clearly it's a piece of iconography that exists.
