cold viruses respect no schedules
So of course, having declared Monday to be a Writing Day, I promptly came down with a cold. :-(
If it's the same virus PM is just recovering from, it is apparently the cold from hell and I will feel even worse on Tuesday. I can say already that it is a deeply disconcerting virus, because one of its main effects is to tighten/close the muscles of my throat in a way that feels scarily similar to what happens when I eat raw fruit... only not as severe, obviously, because in this case I can still breathe. :-/
Anyway, in light of my illness (and also because the delivery driver forgot to bring our magazine shipment on Monday morning so Tuesday has suddenly become our designated Busy Day), we have gotten AO to work 9am-2pm on Tuesday so I can come in two hours late and get some extra sleep. I have already slept from 7:30pm-3:30am, which is a solid eight hours, and will be going back to bed shortly -- I have remained up partly to eat some oatmeal and partly so I won't wake up around, say, 9am and then be unable to get back to sleep. (Even when hopelessly ill, I can't sleep seventeen and a half hours straight!)
But I do have Wednesday off work entirely. Hopefully I will be able to think again by then.
The plan seems to be to finish the next section of "Trollstuck" and then work on "Lemonade," followed perhaps by the next chapter of "Guardian." We shall see how it goes!
