some days I wish I was capable of waving my hands and saying, "the hell with things making sense!"

I would like to state, for the record, that coming up with plausible-sounding (not even plausible, necessarily, just plausible-sounding) jutsu as the plot demands, working out how they would be experienced by the user and the target, and then describing all this information concisely and coherently, is a goddamn pain in the neck.

No special point. Just FYI.

(The same goes for any system of 'magic,' actually. *hates on various WIPs*)

It totally is! Oh my goodness, the Getbackers fic has been driving me nuts, because I keep having to write fight scenes and come up with new techniques. It's /such/ a pain.

Tolkien had it easy. He was vauge enough about what his magic actually was that it could do almost anything. Wheras more modern writers typically start loading up on rules and restrictions that give exactly the problems you cite.

Stating that information concisely and coherently however? Yeah, that's the REAL trick.

You mean that you don't want your Jutsu to be named something like "size reduction" jutsu, and have it shrink someone's underwear?

*wishes she could scrub that image from her brain*

Soooooo, does this mean that we'll be getting more Guardian soon? *set's up camp with Kakashi and Iruka*

I'm patient, kinda.
