wherein Liz continues to read Homestuck
In re page 5837: I cannot tell if Dave is genuinely that ignorant about football, or if he's just doing that to be ironic and/or annoy Rose.
Either way, it is cracking me up. :-) I love Dave.
Bruce Bombardi trophy for best pile squad. *snickers*

I love Terezi too, and John and Karkat. I like them best along with Dave. Terezi is flat-out awesome with her bloodthirsty role-playing, her foresight, her in-your-face attitude, and her ability to actually make Dave stop bullshitting and listen on occasion. John is so blindly earnest and sweet and doofy that he has won me over wholeheartedly. (Except for the stupid movie thing. There, he is on his own.) And Karkat... it's astonishing how easily you learn to basically ignore two thirds of the things he says and hear the genuine concern and worry under the barrage of CAPSLOCK and insults and self-hatred/self-disgust. He's a jerk, yeah, but he definitely has a heart of gold. *pets him*
Vriska has grown on me a lot despite her, um, massive failings, and she and John are weirdly sweet together. (I have no idea how that works, but somehow it does. *is baffled yet pleased*).
I am also very fond of Rose, Jade, and Kanaya (who has become a vampire??? okay, that was kind of maybe foreshadowed with her tasting her lusus's blood back in her into on Alternia, but seriously random plot twist is seriously random!) but not to the same degree. With Jade and Kanaya, I think that may just be a relative lack of page time; they're pretty awesome when they're on-screen, but I tend to forget about them when they're not the current focus. Rose just... I like her, but there's a sort of distance to that liking; it's an intellectual appreciation rather than a gut-level emotional connection. I am not sure why that is so.
Nepeta and Equius are adorable together but largely incidental to the main story, and the other trolls, eh. Tavros mostly makes me sad, Sollux, Feferi, and Aradia didn't get enough page time for me to get to know them very well, ditto Gamzee before he went homicidally psycho, and Eridan was basically a dickhead even before his murder spree and his completely justified death courtesy of Kanaya's chainsaw. (Okay, he was a sad, confused, and pathetic dickhead, but that doesn't make the overall effect any less unpleasant.)
Anyway, I am going to finish running through this set of scrapbook snapshots and then go to bed. (Note to self: I left off on p. 5874, in case my computer's stupid automatic update and reboot function that it wants to run tonight wipes the 'save game' cookie.)
