[Meme] December Talking Meme

Oh, what the heck. This has been going around, and I could use some structure in my life. So!

Pick a date in December and give me a topic, and I'll ramble about it for a bit. It can be anything from fandom-related to life-related to pizza preferences to whatever you want. Short ficlets are also a possibility.

The responses will probably be brief, or not, depending on the subject. Also, I reserve the right to decline prompts that I don't feel equipped to meet.

Topics: you can get an idea from my tags/from the stuff I usually ramble about/from things you maybe wish I talked about more but don't.

[personal profile] heliopausa 2014-11-18 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I had been thinking that there's precious few in fantasy (so many princesses!) - but also, not too many presentations of ordinary working-class life in popular television, either (all lawyers or advertising executives!). :D But then I thought, 'oh, just leave it open'. So I did.

Errr, post YT-

Dec. 28, what I've been asking everyone -- given all your fandoms, is there something that unites your pan-fandom interests?

And, errr, Dec 31, new year resolutions, yes, no, absolutely not ever never?

How about middle-aged female protagonists on December 10th?

December 5th

I dunno if you want to hear from anonymous or not? If it helps I'm Grumpy Old Snake, on AO3, deviantart and/or ff.net. (I think that covers all of them..? xD)

As for prompt; I spot a Vorkosigan Saga tag over on the right. Exposition? Is it a series you've read before? :D

Huzzah~

I hadn't known there *was* an active fandom, to be honest! At least not a social one I've run into online. It was just a title I recognized and liked, so hearing someone else's thoughts on the series sounded cool. :D

Hmm. You don't seem to have anything for December 18th yet. Suggested topic: what makes a crossover work/not work?

Claiming one, if you don't mind!

16th - Talk about your favourite themes/tropes! Which do you like to read, write, or both? Do your preferences change when it's fanfic versus profiction? Which themes do you think you've handled well, or do you want to try in future?

It is! I freely admit that. :D I rambled on a bit in the prompt because I figured it would be more of a "pick one or more aspects" rather than a "talk about ALL OF IT" reply, so don't feel constrained to answer everything. Just go wherever your pondering leads you. :D

Well... I'd love to hear about your thoughts about Doctor Who in general, because I didn't realize you'd watched anything. However, it is not always very fun to talk about a show you didn't fall in love with so!

Talk about Christopher Chant :)
