Just got home from seeing The Return of the King. SO INCREDIBLY GOOD!!! None of the really irritating reasonless changes of the earlier movies (even ditching the Scouring of the Shire works in terms of the movie storyline), and all loose ends tied up. Plus Aragorn cleans up and is really damn hot. And battle scenes. And SO MUCH UST between Frodo and Sam that Susan, who hadn't even heard about slash until I mentioned it afterwards, was thinking that they were going to kiss. Her exact thought: "Dude, don't you have a wife?"

I will probably think of things to nitpick as the overwhelming effect wears off -- I told you films slam into me really hard and kind of knock out my mind for a while -- but even then, this is an amazing movie. Beautiful. Moving. Bloody. Inspiring. Touching. And just SO INCREDIBLY GOOD!

And then Susan and I randomly sang old choir songs on the way home. Such a good day! *hugs the world*
