General Disclaimer: These stories are based on characters and situations created and owned by other people and corporations. I make no money from this borrowing of intellectual property, and intend no copyright or trademark infringement.

Organization: This list is organized primarily by fandom; within each fandom, it's arranged first by associated story cycles and then by writing date. Word counts and writing dates are approximations.

Content/Warning Policy: 1) I am not consistent about warnings! I use them when I remember, for a few relatively broad categories of potentially problematic content, but if something is off-page, non-explicit, or generally backgrounded, I probably won't think to note it in the metadata. Read at your own risk! 2) The things I try to warn for are explicit sex, rape, murder, torture, cannibalism, incest, depression/suicide, familial dysfunction, and occasionally also societal dysfunction (aka dystopia). Sometimes I just slap a general content warning on all my fic for a given fandom and don't label each individual fic. I also don't generally warn for violence, unless the violence in a fic is dramatically out-of-step with the violence in its source canon. 3) I don't use any content rating system unless I'm posting to a site or community that requires or encourages ratings, because I find movie-style ratings counter-intuitive when applied to written fiction, and not particularly useful for anything other than denoting the presence of explicit sex, which I already note in the metadata.

Quality Rating System: I've marked my favorite stories with asterisks, on a scale of 1 to 4. The more asterisks, the more I like the story. This doesn't necessarily mean that stories without asterisks are bad, just that I don't like them as much. Also, I am not claiming to be an arbiter of taste; you may love stories I dislike, and vice versa. I am just providing a heads-up about the ones that I think are best written and/or most interesting.

Where To Read: What I post on my journal tends to be the equivalent of a beta draft. If I have cross-posted a story literally anywhere else (except Tumblr; fic content there is just a mirror of fic content here), read the version that isn't on my journal. Versions on AO3 are definitive. If there is no AO3 version, read the ff.net version. If there is no ff.net version, read the FictionAlley version (only applicable for HP fic). Failing that, read the journal version, because that's the only one there is.

This is Dokugakuji-POV speculative future-fic (and also off-page deathfic -- I killed a lot of people, so consider yourself warned!), dealing with what might happen after the Sanzo-ikkou reach India and hopefully prevent Gyumaoh's resurrection. Despite the death, I think this story is more bittersweet than despairing.

So. Dokugakuji and Goku, after a possible end to the journey. A reflection on family, friends, choices, karma, and reasons to keep living. Contains offscreen death of major canon characters, post-traumatic stress and depression, mention of past incest and other extreme familial dysfunction.

It has now been over a month since I read vols. 1-9 of Kazuya Minekura's Saiyuki and vols. 1-7 of Saiyuki Reload. I'm not going to attempt a comprehensive review; I don't like doing that on unfinished series. Instead, here are some thoughts in no particular order. (Also some spoilers, but nothing too detailed.)

These are some character-study pieces I wrote while I was working on Samsara. The first is a set of six drabbles from Kanan's POV. Contains incest and madness.

The second story is a slightly more extended piece on Kanan in Hyakugan Maoh's castle. There's a small fairy-tale conceit, but I think that's just because I have a tendency to think in fairy-tales, and you know, there is something sort of archetypal about the woman held captive in a castle/tower/fortress by some sort of monster. Contains incest and suicidal ideation.

Looking at these stories, it's obvious that something about Hakkai's backstory -- and about Kanan in particular -- snagged and caught on my subconscious. Normally I turn things over in my head until I can make sense of them, but this time, I seem to have done that via stories instead of essays or extended internal conversations. (That last option is not nearly as insane as it sounds, I swear.)

Church dinner tonight to meet Rev. Grimm in a small group setting. I'm doing set-up and clean-up, and have to be there at 6pm.

I bought vols. 1-7 of Saiyuki Reload yesterday, and also vol. 1 of Wild Adapter. Three cheers for Kazuya Minekura! Have pity on my poor bank account! (Though my local Borders has a buy-three-get-one-free deal on manga at the moment, which is nice and helpful and far too tempting.)

I will totally do some sort of actual review/reaction post within a week, once I have time to reread everything, hunt down scanlations of Saiyuki Gaiden, and do other stuff like that.

I want more. NOW.

When I get into things, I tend to get really into them. And almost none of my latest 'things' ever last as long as I hope they will. (You could say I have serial obsessions rather than sustained interests. Or rather, my sustained interests are always reading and writing -- it's just that what I'm reading and writing tends to shift around a lot.)
