edenfalling: headshot of a raccoon, looking left (raccoon)
Summary: Ekanu and Denifar on the vision isle. (250 words)

Note: This ficlet is another snippet of "Harvest," this one set sometime after Harvest: Downwind -- I'm inclined to think perhaps the next morning?

Harvest: Stepping Stones )

---------------------------------------------

I would really like to finish "Harvest" by the end of the year...
edenfalling: headshot of a raccoon, looking left (raccoon)
Summary: In which Sunbright unexpectedly acquires a body-servant. (525 words)

Cast a Shadow )

I really need to write their actual first meeting sometime, and maybe also the explanation of why Shadowfall was working in the fortress kitchens in the first place. ...Or I could just finish outlining the novel and start work on that. That is also a possibility. *sigh*
edenfalling: headshot of a raccoon, looking left (raccoon)
Summary: The Enterprise is on its third day surveying yet another uninhabited star system beyond the Federation's borders when they receive a highest priority message from the Confederacy of Surak. (575 words)

[ETA: The AO3 crosspost is now up!]

Request and Require )

So about that one non-canonical planetary name...

I continue to think that the name 'New Vulcan' is stupid and unimaginative, and also speaks to a terribly human-centric worldview. In my heart, the Vulcans' new homeworld will always be called Vik, something I picked up from [archiveofourown.org profile] jacquez's amazing fic The Word for World Is--, which deals with the rebuilding of Vulcan culture after the disaster that nearly obliterated their people. (You should go read that story. It will stick with you for a long time.)
edenfalling: headshot of a raccoon, looking left (raccoon)
Summary: Karen has a reputation again. (400 words)

[ETA: The slightly revised final version is now up on AO3!]

Of Ill Repute )

And now off to the G. family party!
edenfalling: headshot of a raccoon, looking left (raccoon)
Summary: Aradia's friends come to check up on her and make sure her brush with magic hasn't backfired. (625 words)

Note: This ficlet is a direct sequel to Untimely Ripped and Have Lighted Fools the Way.

[ETA: The ever-so-slightly revised final version is now up on AO3!]

And Beat Them Backward Home )

Maybe someday I'll get to the actual magic lessons part of this AU. But for now, we are still dealing with emotional fallout.

(I feel SO MUCH BETTER when I'm actively writing stuff, no matter how tiny and irrelevant said stuff may be.)
edenfalling: headshot of a raccoon, looking left (raccoon)
Summary: Tom Redding endures a test in the desert of Mur. (325 words)

Note: This ficlet is a direct sequel to A Dream of Snow and will make more sense if you read that one first.

A Dream of Heat )

I don't even particularly like this ficlet, but I am trying to make myself write and finish SOMETHING after a drought of over a month, so. Here is something.
edenfalling: headshot of a raccoon, looking left (raccoon)
Summary: The thing is, Roxy never really wanted a sister. She wanted her mom. (650 words)

Note: This ficlet was inspired by the 7/19/15 15_minute_ficlets word #232. It's also a Cotton Candy Bingo fill for the prompt: acceptance, because why not.

[ETA: The ever-so-slightly revised final version is now up on AO3!]

Only Children )

Lalala, just doing little finger exercises...
edenfalling: headshot of a raccoon, looking left (raccoon)
Summary: An excerpt from the introduction to The Golden Age: A Historical and Cultural Survey, published by the University of Redhaven in the year 1667. (225 words)

[ETA: The AO3 crosspost is now up!]

The Golden Age: A Historical and Cultural Survey )

Writing fake history is fun. :D
edenfalling: headshot of a raccoon, looking left (raccoon)
Summary: Jade brings Davesprite to LOFAF on a quest to recreate her eclectic bass. Naturally they get derailed by tangents. (625 words)

Note: Three things! 1) This ficlet was inspired by the 7/5/15 [community profile] 15_minute_ficlets word #230. 2) It is also a response to the Cotton Candy Bingo prompt: music. 3) It's part of my Tales from the Yellow Yard series, set a week or two after Short Story Long. It's early enough in that journey that it works in both the Game Over and Retcon timelines, so you can imagine it whichever way you please.

[ETA: The AO3 crosspost is now up!]

An Elephant with Laryngitis )

Yes, I did that thing with the prompt words on purpose. :D

Also, yes, this prompt was on my first Cotton Candy Bingo card as well. Coincidences happen! The fact that I filled both prompts with female Homestuck characters attempting to alchemize stringed instruments is less coincidental, but hey, if it ain't broke... *shrug*
edenfalling: headshot of a raccoon, looking left (raccoon)
Summary: Rabadash and Shezan share a few private words on the eve of his coronation. (575 words)

[ETA: The AO3 crosspost is now up!]

Before the Dawn )

I wrote this ficlet at the public library this afternoon, then revised it at home some hours later. (The problem with trying to write stories in a single interconnected continuity is that I have to keep looking up minor details to make sure I'm not contradicting things I've previously said.)

Also, I would like it to be known that I tried really hard not to write another Problem of Susan ficlet for this prompt, and by gum, I succeeded!

And now for some timeline blather! )
