Well, there was foreshadowing. Somewhat. With Kim and her disturb the dead, call the undead thing. Anyway, what bothered me was that Guinivere was reborn as Jennifer, yet Arthur was sort of undead, and Lancelot was dead, and in a different world, no less. The metaphysics behind that just... itched at my brain.
And there's also the slight problem of world cultures. I mean, if Fionavar is the 'true' pattern, then where the bleeping hell are cultures that aren't your standard Celtic or Germanic base, or other stereotypical fantasy lands such as your 'plains with horsepeople' and your 'people across the mountains'? Where's, say, Japan? Zimbabwe? The Inca? *gnashes teeth in frustration*
