We drove and we drove and we drove -- after futzing around the cabin with last-minute thingies and whatnot for several hours -- and got past Chicago before we stopped Thursday night. And yesterday we actually got home at 9:30pm, which was quite good time for that distance. (Everyone in my family speeds. But we're careful about it, and the last accident any of us had was when Vicky was learning to drive and skidded on an unexpected patch of ice while avoiding another car.)
Anyway, this morning Mom and I picked up my oboe from Elefante, where the repairman wasn't able to find the problem. Grrr. It seems obvious enough to me; the C-sharp doesn't play. It just comes out as a C-natural. Which is NOT GOOD. So I'm taking it in again Thursday evening so I can talk to the repairman in person, as Mom is obviously no good at explaining the problem.
I've been putting away stuff that was just left lying around when I got down from Ithaca, and I actually have floor space again. It's amazing! And when my laundry is done, I can pack winter clothes into my trunk and shlepp it up to the attic, and I'll really have some room.
Then, I think, I'm going to have to pack some of my books away in boxes, because I just don't have room for them anymore. And I already have 5 bookcases in my room. *sigh* This is what comes of being the child of a historian and a librarian.
But the main point of all this is that I'll be able to hook my computer back together upstairs, and then I can get "Sir Ron and the Green Knight" off it and post it. It's been ready for a week, but since I was off in Minnesota, that did me no good whatsoever.
And then I can get back to Secrets.
Meh. Am rambling. Will stop now.
