1. I wrote another [livejournal.com profile] thirtyforthree story last night. This one clocks in at about 1,900 words, and is another one where I kick canon in the knees and make it spiral out on a different trajectory. The split point here is the Yule Ball in GoF -- there was a several hour period when Harry and Ron sat at a table in the back, talking about giants, and I started to wonder what else could have happened instead...

*evil grin*

It's not a real threesome, but it does get all three separate relationships, and it was far too much fun to write. I think I will post it next week.

2. I will be visiting Madison for the weekend. Susan's sister Anne, who's taking a summer course at Cornell, has graciously agreed to drive me down tomorrow evening, and someone in my family will drive me back on Sunday. It's kind of short notice, but I did plan to visit family sometime in July, so this works as well as anything.

What's even better is that Vicky's coming up from D.C. this weekend, so I'll get to see her too! It's like a mini-reunion, since the four of us almost never manage to all be in the same place at the same time these days, barring Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Plus, Susan and I have firmly agreed to do something. We have no idea what we've planned to do (because we are both fatally indecisive and prone to procrastination), but we're quite sure that something will turn up. In other news, Susan has rented an apartment in Savanah, Georgia -- she's starting grad school there this fall. (Hmmm. Should that be Savanah or Savannah? I can never remember...)

3. There has been some nasty flooding across the Southern Tier of New York. Binghamton was partially evacuated, for instance.

The flooding in Binghamton also hit Southern Tier News Corp.'s distribution warehouse, which meant that every single newspaper from NYC was destroyed yesterday, and we had none to sell. That includes the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, the Daily News, the Financial Times, the Investor's Business Daily, the International Herald Tribune, Oggi (the Italian-language paper), and all the racing forms.

Ironically, we got the Binghamton Press & Sun just fine.
