Today I went to church, put away the rest of yesterday's laundry, and then attempted to write. I picked away at various things, getting mostly nowhere (though I did finally formalize the inheritance laws of the queens of Kanos, which is an original fiction thing I'm sure nobody but my friend Susan is interested in), and in frustration took a lunch break and read some essays in a book about the history of world trade.

Then I went back to the computer, tried again, and managed to finish chapter 11 of "The Guardian in Spite of Herself." It has taken me far too long, and it sucks like a sucking thing (you could drown in the melodrama of the final scene. no, really), but I should have the worst idiocies beaten out of it in a day or two, and I'll probably post it Tuesday evening.

Take that, writer's apathy!
