Yesterday I woke up feeling like death warmed over. I took a shower in hopes that I'd feel better, but it didn't help at all. So I called in sick to work and spent most of the day sleeping.

I did get up and shower around 4:30pm, and make myself presentable for trick-or-treaters, which turned out to be good because my landlords went out with their kids and it is amazing the way little kids manage to overlook the basket of candy set out on the porch, or the way they ring the doorbell in hopes that someone will come and give them more.

Fortunately, I had bought candy, and so had my landlords, so I put theirs out on the porch and offered mine to whoever rang the bell. "Upstairs person, downstairs person," was how I explained it. And when their candy ran out, I set mine on the porch (in their basket), turned off the stairwell lights, washed my hands of the business, and went to bed.

I am annoyed that I wasn't able to wear my vampire costume. There didn't seem to be much point if I was mostly going to be sitting on my couch and honking my nose like a foghorn. *sigh*

And now I am heading to the grocery store to buy more chicken noodle soup, and then home, and shortly thereafter to bed again.

I hate the way colds just knock me flat.
