I have now attended the introductory sessions of both my summer psych classes. Abnormal Psych, taught by Prof. Taddeo, seems like it will be more interesting in terms of subject matter, but I think Prof. Fodali, who teaches Child Psych, has a more interesting classroom approach. He's also very... boisterous. And enthusiastic.

Had a brief adventure on the way to class last night, though. See, CCM is half an hour's drive from my house, if all goes well. But it's west on Route 10, and I'm driving out during rush hour, so I have to leave early so as not to get trapped by all the commuters heading home from New York.

Normally this is not a problem. But yesterday I was driving Betsy (our almost 20-year-old Buick Skylark) which has an occasionally leaky radiator. And it was 80-something degrees, and sunny, and uphill, and very slow traffic (which means no moving air to help cool the engine). I had to pull off into a corporate parking lot, wait ten minutes for the coolant to stop boiling -- it made such hideous noises I was afraid for a minute that the car might explode -- and refill it.

Needless to say, I did not get to class on time.

I am very grateful we keep water and coolant fluid in Betsy just in case of things like that.
