I am not entirely sure what is going on with my financial aid, in that my school disbursed part of my loan, but I cannot make heads or tails out of their bursar statement, and also the check they just sent me for excess funds seems to be only half of what it should be? Strangeness abounds!

Anyway, I guess I will deposit the check into my savings account to collect interest for a couple months, until I need it to pay for my summer classes -- my scholarship only covers spring and fall, alas. Also I will stop by the financial aid office in late April or early May (since it's also the general student services office and I believe I am required to speak to an advisor before finalizing my schedule) and see if they can provide a better explanation in person.

At least I haven't had to pay anything out of pocket yet?

If the math doesn't seem to add up, definitely knock on the door and buttonhole someone. Student loans are a wilderness of "oh, sorry, we forgot that".
