I hate the world
Jun. 4th, 2018 06:46 pmPart far-too-many in the continuing saga of my attempt to get the required English 102 textbook:
So this morning I got an email saying my order was complete. Yay! About twenty minutes later, I got a phone call from the bookstore manager reiterating that I could come pick it up today.
Originally the order was meant to be shipped to my apartment, but I figured whatever, this is faster, I'll catch a bus out in the afternoon since I had a bunch of other errands to run in the late morning/early afternoon. (Buy new work clothes, buy earring backs, buy new headphones, buy groceries, etc.)
Here is an important point: in the email the manager sent me last Thursday, he specifically noted that the store was open until 6pm. In his call this morning, he said nothing about store hours. It's logical to assume they've remained the same, yes? Right, I thought so too.
So I caught the 3pm bus out to Dryden, arrived at 3:45, and figured I had ten minutes to run in, grab the book (I'd already paid online, after all), and maybe even hit the bathroom before I got back on the bus which was leaving at 3:55pm.
...And the bookstore was closed.
They've switched to summer hours, which end at 3pm.
Which the manager didn't bother to tell me.
...
I sent him an email saying that A) he screwed up by not telling me the new hours, B) I work Tuesday through Saturday and can't physically get to the store again until Monday the 11th (true!), and C) this is completely unacceptable and he needs to ship the book to me ASAP. I will even pay for him to do so (though shipping was included in the original order, grrrrrrrr), and I'm willing to do so by credit card or check, whichever is easier for him.
His move now. I await his reply tomorrow with great (and somewhat malicious) interest.
