ugh, work (redux)

In other words, yeah, today was also A Day. So many students.
...At least I got to use the laminator? That's always fun, even if the reason I'm using it is often to make signs because people have done something Wrong and we are trying to prevent recurrences by posting instructions in large print on brightly colored paper.
I also fixed five separate people's internet issues -- two over the phone, and three by physically going to their apartments and plugging in their routers for them. (Sadly, I am not joking about that.) This is not counting the dozens of people I explained our internet service to, so as to prevent them from running into problems in the first place. I would really like tenants to stop trying to turn me into an IT person. I am not suited for that role!
Tomorrow I get to meet New Hire 2. Aunt Boss will be working from ~10-1pm, and Mom Boss for a few hours in the afternoon, so I have been delegated to show New Hire 2 around all our properties so she gets a sense of what and where they are. This is important because we will open for apartment tours in the first week of September, and she'll have to show people around and talk knowledgeably about various apartments. I don't think this is terribly hard -- I got thrown headfirst into apartment tours pretty soon after my own hiring -- but hopefully I can help her avoid embarrassing gaffes like not realizing a given apartment has a separate street entrance and wandering around the basement with several prospective tenants in tow while I failed to find the unit in question. *wry*
Anyway, I felt I deserved a nice dinner after having A Day, so I got myself some fried dumplings and beef with broccoli from the good local Chinese takeout place, which will make three meals all together -- both delicious and good value for the money. :)
