Things I did yesterday:
1. Learn how to count, record, and deposit the Sunday offering. This is one of the ancillary duties expected of trustees. (We fill out the roster with members of the Finance Committee and former Board members.)
2. Laundry, ugh.
3. Roast a tiny eggplant that I GREW MYSELF. :)
---------------
Things I did today so far:
1. Pull together inspection forms for the 10% of our tenants who still haven't turned theirs in, write names on them, and distribute them to two of our buildings. Miss California can do the rest tomorrow.
2. Stay half an hour late to shepherd a group through making their down payment and lease commitment for a 6-bedroom apartment. I mean, at least I get paid for my time, but still. One wants to get home at a reasonable hour!
...oh fuck, I just realized I forgot to take down/alter the ad for that specific apartment we have up on the ultra-super-picky apartment listing website. Technically having it up is a violation of their terms of use.
...
Whatever, I'll fix it on Thursday.
---------------
And now I am going to meander my way through some more continuing education about K-1 forms, because tax preparation is one of the knottiest, thorniest tangles ever to tangle, and learning how to pick the snarls apart is fun in a way I suspect most people would find counter-intuitive. (As in, I spend a lot of time intensely frustrated and muttering imprecations, but when I get to the end of a case study or an actual return, my reaction is always, "HA, I WIN!" \o/, because I like that kind of intellectual challenge. And also helping people. There's that too. Nobody should have to navigate the US tax system without a hand to hold along the way... unless, of course, you're like me and enjoy that kind of thing. *wry*)
