daily update, Thursday March 12
Mar. 12th, 2020 06:51 pmThings done today:
1. Rental company office 9am-7pm. Mostly a slow day -- a bunch of paperwork, a handful of packages, and a bunch of phone calls. (The calls included a lot of wrong numbers. Lawyer Dude tweaked our Google ad keywords a couple weeks ago and now our ads are showing up in some wacky places such that we keep getting calls for Home Depot, people trying to rent excavators, and someone looking for a freaking bagel shop instead of college students looking for housing. *sigh*)
2. Cornell has moved entirely to virtual classes as a Covid-19 precaution, and a lot of students are either leaving or waffling about leaving. Ithaca is holding its economic breath. Also my wine-tasting event on Saturday has been postponed indefinitely and my church is moving entirely to virtual interaction after this coming Sunday's service.
3. Wrote ~300 more "and-then" words of the fight scene in the Narnia/Naruto crossover. It's a lot easier to choreograph stuff when you're not worrying about word choice and your POV character's emotional reactions, you know? *wry* But now I've hit a pause and a new standoff and this requires a bit of thought to figure out how to resolve the tension.
4. I'm going to call Susan when I get home and hope that my residual sore throat doesn't cut our conversation short.
5. I also intend to finish the pants repair job I started yesterday.
And then I will go to bed, because see above in re: residual sore throat from the Cold That Would Not Die. Ugh.
