Plant-related things I have done today:

1. Bought some semi-decorative chain from Agway, to extend my new/planned hanging pots down to reasonable heights. Also bought another pack of hooks because I think, upon due reflection, what I need to do is put four entirely new hooks in my kitchen ceiling so I can have one plant in front of each window pane -- the current two hooks are not spaced usefully for placing two new plants between them, but the space as a whole can definitely support four plants.

2. Went to Lowes in search of semi-decorative S-hooks, since the ones at Agway were all super heavy-duty and that is not what I need. Lowes did not have garden-style S-hooks, but I did get a replacement bottle of Repels-All animal deterrent spray, so that's useful.

3. Continued on to Home Depot, where I finally found what I was looking for! ...Except it was the last packet in the store, and it only had two hooks, and I need three. *sigh* (And yes, I am very sure it was the last one in the store. I got a staff member to look it up in their electronic inventory, and they said that my packet was a ghost because officially they had -4 packets on-site. I am not sure how you get negative items in stock, but this is the beauty of inventory records. I am so glad I don't have to do inventory any more. I had quite enough of that mess during my 8.5 years at the smoke shop.)

4. Came home and got one spider plant hung in my computer room. I actually installed the ceiling hook last night while on the phone with Nick (he needed to talk through some plotting problems in his latest book so I did rubber-duck troubleshooting with occasional actual suggestions) only to realize I needed chains and S-hooks. Scraps (the plant in question) looks quite cheerful now, and brightens the room considerably. :)

5. Vacuumed the dirt I spilled during that test hanging last night.

6. Ordered additional S-hooks via Amazon.

7. Watered my container garden and the squash and raspberries. It has been a dry couple weeks here in Ithaca, and I very much hope the chance of rain predicted for the back half of this week actually materializes.

8. Transplanted Sugar and Spice (the two spider plants I intend to hang by my kitchen windows) into new, larger pots with proper saucers to catch excess water.

Non-plant-related things I have done today:

A) My congregation successfully held our first online annual meeting. We approved the minutes from last year's meeting (with one amendment), approved the budget for 2020-21 (after some discussion), and approved the slate of candidates for the Board of Trustees. We are now back up to the full complement of 9 trustees -- we'd been working with only 8, since one trustee had to resign in late 2018 and we couldn't find anyone willing to be appointed to a one-year temporary term.

B) Bought some ebooks, because reasons.

C) Took kitchen compost to the backyard bin.

D) Bought groceries.

-----

And now I am going to have a late dinner and try to catch up on some writing that I've been neglecting in favor of running hither and yon in search of garden paraphernalia. :)
