I arrived at work on Monday morning to a large backlog of stuff on my desk, since Miss California was still out on Saturday. I whittled it down to about... four things? two things and two half-things? by the end of the day, and left notes for Miss California so she'd know where'd I'd left off in the half-finished tasks.
I arrived at work this morning to find Monday's unfinished things still there, plus a large backlog of new stuff, since Miss California had been out again on Tuesday and Wednesday. (I am still unclear on what's been going on, but apparently she will return on Friday to do more apartment staging and photos/videos, and she's edited and posted a whole bunch of YouTube virtual tours from home, so eh.) Fortunately I didn't have as many new tasks dropped on my head over the course of the day, so by the time I left I had finally managed to get all the way through the piles of stuff.
I mean, I still have some spreadsheets to update and several other tasks waiting for me tomorrow, but at least all of the Monday tasks are dealt with and the remaining items are either more mindless (putting informational stickers on certain things) or the kind you can knock out with about three keystrokes once you get the spreadsheet organized correctly.
And then I guess it's back to photo cleanup and posting the new shiny pictures on our website and in our ads.
Also as of this Saturday, I will be back to working 4 days a week. I will miss having the extra day off, but my budget will be very happy at the resurgence in my income levels. *wry*

In other news, my parents dropped by for a flying visit Wednesday afternoon and evening, en route from New Jersey to Minnesota. We chatted at my apartment for an hour or so (I showed off my garden, such as it is) and then had dinner at the Boatyard Grill, where we sat outside in what's normally their wedding reception/party area, but which they are now using for widely separated regular dining tables since their interior seating is drastically reduced. The food was very tasty, and the overall experience was a deeply weird combination of normal and blatantly abnormal.

In other other news, I have scheduled a rehiring interview with Not the IRS for this coming Tuesday. Other things I would like to do this coming Tuesday include taking the Camry to Goodyear because the check engine light turned itself on Friday evening and while I don't use the car a lot (and also the check engine light does not distinguish between minor and major problems so this might be the next best thing to nothing), I would prefer it not abruptly die on me.

And now I will fall into bed because oh god I'm tired.
