I kept forgetting to start my seeds for this year's container garden (shockingly, a pandemic and two surgeries are kind of distracting!), but tonight I planted some jalapenos and two varieties of bell pepper.

I will start the spinach once I have bought like six cubic feet of potting soil, and I might attempt some lettuce again since that worked all right a few years back. I think I shall once again attempt growing squash and/or zucchini directly in the ground -- but maybe start them indoors in little peat cylinders for a small advantage.

As for the leftover stripy tomato seeds from last year... I guess maybe scatter them by the front hedge and see what happens? I dunno, I feel weird essentially throwing the seeds away, but it's not like I really eat tomatoes myself. Then again, I suppose I could use them in homemade BLTs, so perhaps it's worth putting some care and forethought into their situation.

Anyway, the main point is the peppers are started, and I am going to enlist Dad in helping me haul a bunch of potting soil on Friday afternoon, so I will have it on hand for April and May. I have also ordered some more peat pellets/cylinders, because I only had 14 left and I used them all up on the peppers.

And now to bed.
