AUGH (with a small aside about books)
May. 5th, 2021 11:52 pmThings I did today:
1. One impromptu virtual apartment showing at 12:45.
2. SO MANY PHONE CALLS, WHERE ARE ALL THESE PEOPLE COMING FROM??? (Also I keep a running spreadsheet of all inquiries -- look, we need to know if people have contacted us before, and it's also useful to track what percentage of inquiries turn into actual leases -- so this is significantly more work than it initially sounds like.)
3. Wrote and sent 6 fucking apartment leases. Four of those also included an attached parking lease, which has to be generated separately and corrected for weird glitches introduced by the program I have to use to generate it (because apparently fillable form Word documents aren't fancy enough for the downtown office, UGH).
4. Updated stuff on our website.
5. Updated and refreshed ads. (I think I didn't catch all the wrong lease length information on one site. I will have to check that again tomorrow.)
6. Responded to some online applications.
7. Responded to some email inquiries.
8. Completely failed to do anything whatsoever about creating move-out packets or key envelope labels. *headdesk*
...
And then I came home, where I:
9. Hastily made dinner, the tail end of which overlapped with the start of
10. A special 90-minute church Board of Trustees Zoom meeting, which was mostly to talk about the 2021-22 annual budget and logistics related to the upcoming congregational annual meeting (where we vote on the budget and elect people to the Board), but also included stuff about the interim minister search process, our collective failure to find anyone willing to organize summer services even though people generally want them to happen, and some general discussion of "ACK WILL THE WORLD JUST STAND STILL FOR TWO WEEKS SO WE CAN MAKE A PLAN THAT WE WON'T HAVE TO IMMEDIATELY REVISE?!" in regard to Covid-19 advisories and the uncertainty of reopening.
11. And then I wrote up a draft "sense of the meeting" announcement and sent it out for edits.
12. Also I sent the backlog of approved minutes (March and both April meetings) to our new congregational administrator, to post on the website.
I am WIPED OUT.
...
Oh! And I also finished reading Piranesi, which I need to think about and possibly reread before I can formulate a coherent opinion other than "I am glad I read it and I need to process that for a while."
So yeah. A very full day.
Good night!
