Today will be an easy day, I said. Today is filled only with light tasks, easily and quickly completed, I said. I will have plenty of time to do one specific apartment staging in and around the other stuff, particularly since Mr. Geniality will be in the office from 9am to 1pm and the apartment in question is in the same building as our office, I said.

Ha. Ha. Ha.

One tenant moved in only to discover there was no bed in their apartment. Two separate Maintenance staff disavowed responsibility, and I had to call Maintenance Dude (Mom Boss's husband) to wrangle a temporary solution, which was basically stealing the bed from a different apartment whose new tenant won't arrive until Tuesday. And now we have to find a new bed for that apartment. *headdesk*

One tenant's keys for their new apartment straight up didn't work in the lock. Neither did the two spares. I bashed together a shitty workaround for the weekend and hopefully we'll get the lock changed ASAP on Monday morning -- I did what I could to put a rush on that work order.

One tenant forgot to cancel their freight elevator reservation until after I'd stood around in the awful heat for 15 minutes waiting for them to show up. *wilts*

One tenant couldn't find their ethernet jack -- that, at least, was a straightforward fix!

One tenant had no internet service because somebody forgot to turn it on when handing out their keys. They didn't realize they had no internet service until half an hour after I left, so I had to drive back into the office after my dinner in order to turn their gods-be-damned internet on.

One tenant returned home only to discover that somebody had left a U-Haul truck in their parking space. I still have no idea whose truck that was (I contacted my only guess and it wasn't them), but it's been ticketed and towed and is no longer my problem. Sucks to be whoever rented it, but they shouldn't have parked in someone else's space. (It was a shitty parking job, too -- centered right over the line between two spaces. Who even does that?)

That same tenant saw two roaches outside their apartment door. Again. We have scheduled the exterminator. Again. I don't know where the fucking roaches are coming from at this point -- we closed the trash room on that floor, had the exterminator spray the everliving shit out of it (and the whole length of the trash chute, all five stories), and sent reminder letters about maintaining a clean apartment and disposing of trash in a timely manner to all the tenants on that floor, and yet the roaches keep returning. >:(

And then the elevator in one of our buildings broke down on the 4th floor, with a delivery person stuck inside.

Also all six of the apartments I did final inspections on to see if turnover had indeed been completed had issues that need remediation, so that was fun.

...

...

I'm definitely going to see if I can work downtown for part of Monday, and I may just go stage that one apartment tomorrow afternoon because fuck if I know when else I'll get a chance. *slumps disconsolately*

...

On a completely unrelated bright note, my four new skirts arrived in the mail today! I think I'm gonna wash them tomorrow and wear one to work on Monday. :)
