But also I think he's having a harder time processing lots of data as he ages -- he's been in business since about 1970, for reference -- and he's falling back on the more hands-on, direct personal control management style he used before modern computers as a compensation technique. Unfortunately that style doesn't work terribly well now that he owns properties in multiple cities and isn't on-site very often. :/
He's also less good at assimilating NEW data that contradicts patterns from previous years, which is a problem because the Ithaca rental market has been changing fairly rapidly over the past decade.
What he really needs is a competent PA to explain and condense reports for him and handle all his data entry tasks, a company VP he can delegate to, or even just a clear succession plan, but he doesn't have any of those in place.
