Bits and pieces of this story make me think everyone's going to be better off because Yukiko lived. Sakura has actual friends other than Ino! And for some reason, I feel like she'll be less likely to fall madly in love with Sasuke this time. Shinnin will probably become a genin which she didn't before, because Naruto is perfectly capable of dragging people in his wake. (I'm guessing that's part of the reason why the Rookie Nine and Team Gai seem to be so much better than the village average.)

Specific parts I thought were wonderful: Naruto waking up, swearing he didn't do it and calling for Yukiko, a person who might actually believe him; Naga and Hibiki sizing each other up; and Sasuke reflexively defending his brother.
