summer days

edenfallingAm massively tired, but cannot sleep as I have a family dinner to celebrate the kitchen floor being finished.
Was massively tired yesterday, too -- this is what staying up late for a concert will do to my sleep schedule -- and tricked myself into going to Child Psych with a promise of Starbursts. The vending machine was, of course, broken. *sigh*
Anyway. Life goes on. I have some new doctor's appointments, and permission to do a naturalistic child observation at the F. M. Kirby Children's Center (which is run by the local YMCA, and was just called the Wellness Center when I had to go there years ago. I hated their summer programs, except for the times we got to swim in the YMCA pool.)
"Secrets" hates me and is refusing to be written -- I know what happens next, but it won't come out properly on the page. So I have resorted to "First You Have to Get There," which requires me to reread OoP for Ginny background, and a "Secrets" sidestory, "The Dragon Debacle," for which I need to do some research on Transylvania. Because I kind of accidentally set the Romanian Dragon Reserve near Lacu Rosa, which is in Transylvania, and which the ethnic Hungarians call the Killer Lake. See, a long time ago there was no lake, just a forested valley. Then there was a rockslide, and the whole place flooded; you can row around over drowned trees, which is pretty cool. The "Killer Lake" name comes because the rockslide is supposed to have killed a local man.
But the area is awfully touristy, from what I remember, so I must work out how to squeeze a Dragon Reserve in there somehow. Meh.
