I have been afflicted by a terrible, vicious plot bunny during my time in Minnesota. I don't want to write it. I don't have time to write it. And I'm supposed to be working on Secrets and my original stuff anyway.

But it won't go away.

This is what comes of chanelling Petunia Dursley. You lay out her parents' murder by Death Eaters in one paragraph, and suddenly start to wonder what might have happened if they hadn't predeceased Lily. And you get this marvelous, terrible idea for a family reunion story, in a world where the Evanses didn't die. And where because of various other small tweaks, Lily and James didn't die either. And there are younger Dursley and Potter siblings.

And all the tangled family issues and messy backstory are alluded to during a long family reunion afternoon and evening, in which we track the perspectives of Petunia, Lily, James, Vernon, and the Evans parents (whom I have decided to name Rose and Anthony, just because). And possibly the children as well.

I don't have the time for this!

And it won't go away. And the backstory keeps weaving itself together in the back of my mind. And the damn kids already have names -- some of which I don't even like -- and personalities.

Botheration.

*firmly puts the evil story off for another several weeks minimum* I think I will be forced to write it. This is, after all, how Wearing Thin and "Sir Ron and the Green Knight" started -- as nasty, evil plot bunnies that wouldn't go off and die gracefully. But I think I will be able to shove it off for a while so long as I promise myself to write it eventually.

Inspiration is a bitca.

Went to Burlington Coat Factory with Mom. Bought new coat to replace my honorably deceased red raincoat thingy. Also bought a hat. I have come to appreciate hats lately, though I still think those elasticized stocking cap winter things are evil and should be destroyed. I use headscarves instead, which have the benefit of being head covering and neck covering in one piece of clothing.

Anyway. Am defragging my computer. Hope that helps.

I deleted a few extraneous programs and defragged my computer... and it works again! :-D So I submitted "Sir Ron and the Green Knight" to Riddikulus on FA, but as they seem to be having server problems with their submission process, I've no idea when it'll actually be up there. I think I'll tweak it into a webfile tonight and put it up on FF.net as well, so I'll have somewhere to point people.

Just thought I'd mention that.

*dashes off to work a bit on Secrets chapter 7*
